ohhh yes, the 1st few years were the rockiest for me. It started out with TONS of meds to try and get things under control. I was under the impression that it was as good as it was ever going to get, I didn't realize there was a way to go into remission & feel good again, I didn't know what to expect from the meds so I didn't realize they weren't working well for me. I was finally hospitalized once my symptoms became uncontrollable. I haven't ever had to have surgery, but they had me on 'bowel rest' (no food/liquids) for 3 weeks, while they gave me IV fluids trying to allow my intestines to heal (I was 17 at the time). This didn't do anything so they introduced me to Remicade infusions. This is what has kept me in remission for 3 years! I hope that it continues to work well!! I'm sorry you have had a rough time. I pray that your surgery fixes any problems that you're having and that you can heal and gain remission!!! Talk to you soon!!
