Tell us about your experience with/connection to Crohns Disease
I have Crohn's Disease. I found out in September of 2004. I am undergoing Remicade infusions every 8 weeks, I have been on the medication for 3 years now. I started getting infusions after I was hospitalized for a lengthy time without seeing any improvement. Remicade has really improved the quality of my life, everything in my day to day routine is basically that of an 'average' person, although I still have my bad days from time to time. As far as maintenance medications, I was on Pentasa, but find that I don't need to take it on a regular basis. I only take it if I am having a bad day. I found this website in the winter of 2007 when it was very small and have since gained an enormous amount of support and friendship! Feel free to ask me any questions, I have tons of advice and insight... I've been through the good AND the bad!! =O)

Lineage Information
My Mom has always had very very mild stomach issues. She used to experience some Crohn's-like symptoms but eventually grew out of them.
My Uncle Jerry (Mom's brother) had Colon Cancer, multiple Colon issues, he had an ostomy bag after he had his Colon removed. I can't remember if he was able to have his intestines corrected and lose the bag or if he has to have the bag forever. I need to ask him.
