I am in college now and it does apply. Your professors have to accomadate your needs, whatever it may be. Just get set up with your college disability coordinator and they will take care of everything. They are always so helpful. Mine contacts my teachers at the beginning of the semester and lets them know about my Crohn's and certain things I may have to do, like leave during lectures, or miss a lot of classes. However, it is still crucial that you tell your professors up front too. I would do it the first week of class. It is hard sometimes, but they need to know. I hope I helped!!! :)
Awesome advice! I'm sure that most colleges & universities have some sort of program like Courtney mentioned. Just get set up with a counselor and ask away!
I got set up with a college disability coordinator before starting my first semester at college and they even got me note-takers! Someone else did my notes for all my classes and I just had to go pick them up - super super helpful! I missed a ton of classes and still got great marks :D
