Medical Withdrawal

Hey ya'll just wondering if anyone has/is taking a medical withdrawal?? I just had to take my second one in three and a half years this semester. Also how long have you been in school....is Crohn's taking a toll on your graduation time?

I, personally, have not had to take leave from work, but my boyfriend has had to do that for medical reasons before. I did have to post pone college for a semester and that really sucked. I was in the hospital, but it was kind of convenient that it wasn't right smack in the middle of a semester, it was RIGHT before it started so I had time to drop. Don't be hard on yourself, you need to go at your own pace, if you want to do well in school you need to FEEL well first!! Hehe!! Oh yeah, unfortunately, it has taken a toll on my graduation time... Oh well, I figure I have all the time in the world though!! Hehe!! Good luck girly!

I almost had to take a medical withdrawal, but at my school, it would've required taking the next semester off too, so I ended up just taking an F in one of my classes (ruined my GPA!) Crohn's is definitely taking a toll on my graduation time though - I hate that I probably won't graduate with my friends. I've taken 12 credits every semester, while most people take 15. I'm considering taking 9 next semester, which will put me even more off track...but I guess if it makes it easier to be healthy, it's worth finishing late.

I've had to do withdraw/defer so many times it's been so incredibly annoying. I finished school in 2003 and have since been withdrawing every semester, nearly always before census date so no fees are due, and nothing is recorded on my transcript.

I have so far got 1 CP in 2003 (conceeded pass, need to repeat to continue), and last year a CP, IF (incomplete fail), and WNF (withdraw no fail) which wasn't so great, but hey, I got a credit in 1 as well so I'm happy with that given the time I spent in hospital

Here in Australia I don't know of anywhere that really cares why you're withdrawing, you still get the same date cutoffs and results on your academic transcript, it's only the supplementary exams that have different codes.

It's really frustrating most of my friends have actually finished now, and my younger sister will probably finish next year, but as long as I get through I'm not too fussed in the end. The age difference isn't really an issue like it is in school, and sometimes even has benefits :)
