A Book I recommend and When to Start a new Discussion

For all of you in this club I recently read the book "sugar Queen" by the same author as Garden Secrets.  I loved this book even better than Garden Secrets.  I find the author an easy and entertaining read as well as her characters very enjoyable with a bit of eccentricity that keeps you entertained.  The "sugar Queen" has some real interesting twists and you find yourself wanting to help the characters on thier journeys.

I would love to discuss this book with someone if any of you would like to read it.  Also there seems to be some delay in getting in the book the last lecture from the library so perhaps someone would like to choose a book for all of us to read this month as I know lisette and I would love more people involved in the book discussions.

Let me know

There is a 6 month wait for Garden Secrets at my Library so I can discuss that one with you next March :-(

The time traveller's Wife is definitely worth a read.

I'm up for any book selection - what type of books are you trying to tailor the club to?3 months ago
cindy we have no specific direction other than making sure the book is available at our library and a good read.  Bring on any suggestions.

I finished Anne of Green Gables and loved it!!! I will be reading Anne of Avonlea next. The last lecture hasn't come in yet....
I'm also going to look into the book Twilight that I had mentioned to you Lisa, hopefully it's available (crossing fingers!)

I sadly haven't had much time to read or do much of anything else but run lately but I will see if my library has Anne of Avonlea in.  I am number 5 on the list for the Last Lecture so maybe soon.

Have you ever read Anne of Green Gables Lisa? If not, I recommend you read that one first. There's a lot in that one that you would need to know to understand the second one (Anne of Avonlea).

Lisa I just picked up my copy of the Last Lecture from the library. Any word on when you'll get yours?

For anyone interested, I finished The Last Lecture and recommend it. Its very eye opening to how we spend our time and what we think is important in life. Lisa, what do you think about the book Twilight as the next title?

Lisa - do you have any ideas for December's book?

Has anyone read "Water for Elephants," "Dear Exile," or "There are no Children Here?"  Might either of these be candidates for the book club?
